ECR-Led Events
ECR Conferences
ECR-specific events are organised to promote coronavirus researchers at various career stages. In advance of the 2025 AGM we are hosting an ECR specific day exclusively for ECR members of the UK-ICN. The discussed topics will fit within the UK-ICN research themes, with the sessions containing a mixture of topics. We will end the day with a careers panel and Q&A session to encourage discussion of available careers opportunities to ECRs. Our aim is to provide a friendly environment for delegates to practice presenting their work, with priority given to less experienced members of the network to present and chair alongside more experienced members.

“Work in progress” seminars
We are kicking off 2025 with a new ECR-led seminar series focusing on “work-in-progress”. This will feature ECR speakers presenting their current work to constructive discussion and feedback within the ECR community. This opportunity allows our ECR members be exposed and learn about new technical and practical skills and to use the forum to ask questions for “troubleshooting” for their own work.
Call for Speakers – with the new year we will be recruiting other ECR speakers for our seminar series, so if you are interested in presenting in front of an (online) friendly audience about your experience, or if you have a burning issue that you want to try and solve in the company of fellow ECRs, this is your chance! Do not hesitate to contact the committee members via Federico.deangelis@ed.ac.uk for any questions you might have regarding the format, but rest assured that we will explain everything in detail at the Town Hall!’. Links to access the event will be circulated by our ECR reps to members in due course.
